Avery gunter
Owner, Lead Designer
As a floral designer, I believe flowers are an invitation to engage with beauty that transforms mundane moments into deep delight. It is my joy to bring them to you!
Running Ash to Oak has been one of the greatest dreams realized. I remember only dreaming of designing luxury wedding flowers and here we are! We are so lucky to work with incredible clients and industry partners who make our job the best there is!
My loves include my husband Robert, labradoodle and studio dog, Barlow, 9pm sky in July, sunny days on the water, chocolate chip cookies, and deep belly laughs with friends.
Nikki
Lead Designer & Lead Ceramics Artist
I have always been passionate about creativity, and turning the ideas in my head into a physical creation. This is why floral design appeals to me so much. There is so much beauty in the world and in the way it’s created. I want to store those ideas in my head and from that space, replicate how nature is beautifully created.
I studied ceramics in undergrad and haven’t stopped obsessing over it since. I love the connectedness and intimacy of creating something with my hands that people use in their everyday lives as simple, comforting pieces in their home. It is one of my favorite things, and I’m so excited that it’s a part of the Ash to Oak story now!

SPRING DESIGN ASSOCIATE
My love for design has led me to care deeply about the artistry in our daily surroundings. Creating beautiful experiences that move people, bring people together, or emote something unique energizes me. I've channeled this passion into a career in advertising, and into the work I get to do with Ash to Oak. There's nothing better than witnessing the joy someone experiences when they receive art created specifically for them. Flowers have this unique effect on people, becoming reflections of the most meaningful relationships and moments in their lives. The opportunity to contribute to the beauty and emotion felt in those moments is so special, and working with the Ash to Oak team makes it all the better.

SPRING DESIGN ASSOCIATE
Though my only career experience was in health care, working with flowers has always been my dream. In May 2022, I decided it was time to find an escape from the craziness of the hospital and pursue my floral design. Since the first wedding I worked, I have been in love. I am in awe of what our earth is capable of growing and I am so grateful I have the opportunity to create with so many different textures and colors. Being a floral designer has brought so much joy and community into my life and I love being on this journey with Ash to Oak!
Lauren

I have always loved flowers in their uniqueness & artistry. Over the years, I have had multiple jobs focused in the communication field with writing, graphic design and marketing. With Ash to Oak, I get to combine these communication skills I have learned with beautiful floral arrangements designed by my best friend- a real dream job! I live in Austin, TX with my husband & our lil daughter, Goldie.
NICKI
STUDIO ASSISTANT
I am a visual artist with a career in communications, events, and program management for arts and cultural organizations. I moved to DC from London where I worked with Tate Modern and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. In my free time, I enjoy oil painting and printmaking. I have always loved working with plants, whether that be in the garden or my borderline obsession with house plants, and I am excited to be helping in the Ash to Oak studio this season.
